Do you need a dumpster permit in Philadelphia?
Only if the dumpster sits on the street, sidewalk or other public space. Here is what Philadelphia requires, from the city's own pages.
Permit: Construction Dumpster License (L&I) + Right-of-Way Permit (Dept. of Streets)
Issued by: L&I (license); Dept. of Streets Permit Unit 215-686-5500 (street placement)
Fee: Construction Dumpster License $75 per 3 dumpsters (or fraction) per year, paid by the hauler; Streets right-of-way permit fee not published on the page
Rules: License held by the dumpster company, RFID medallion on every dumpster, renew yearly, must be current on city taxes. Street placement needs a separate Streets Dept permit.
